Day 3 - Whistler and poor wardrobe choices for a Half-Canadian

Today started out as a great day and finished as a great day! Only one thing changed - my feet are so swollen and sore that you might as well call me Stumpy from now on. I think I walked 10 miles today. It started in Vancouver where we stayed at my cousin Shauna's CUTE home. We quickly got ready and left the house for Whistler. Our first stop was to get something I have been missing in my life for far too long. Yep, you guessed it - Canadian chocolate. A little thing called the Wonder Bar that keeps me going. Comment on here and I will bring you one. You want it - it's great.
The next stop was the house that dad grew up in. I remember this house from old family reunions. We were with dad, so of course we knocked on the door and asked if we could walk around. The lady was so funny - she was nervous at first but eventually let us in. Here are some photos from the backyard where grandpa used to shower in the rain:

The drive to Whistler was fabulous! We listened to music far too loud and danced like crazy. Exhibit A, B and C:

After settling into the house we are staying in we walked to Whistler Village - and yeah, I wore high heel boots. Not the brightest idea I have ever had but I wanted to be cute in Whistler! Later I would curse the word cute. We ate at a Mongolian BBQ and scalped tickets for the Skeleton later that day.

We still hadn't found the perfect Olympic outfit that dad promised us so we went to Roots and picked out something that I really can't wait to wear. Tomorrow I am sure you will see many pictures:) Then we headed up to the Skeleton track. It was in simple terms - the best and most fun event EVER. Considering that I haven't been to any other events it ranks high on the list.

A few hours into our adventure Alexa started losing the feeling in her feet. The reason for this? No socks. In Whistler, at the Winter Olympics, no socks, no gloves. This usually equals frostbite after several hours. Rogan luckily had feet warmers and helped her out. Rogan to the rescue again!

The next wardrobe failure was my own. At first I thought "wow my legs must look hot - everyone is totally checking them out". Then I came back to reality that I was the only person on the mountain trekking up in high heels. Really? WHAT was I thinking?

The next and best wardrobe malfunction of all goes to my beloved father. In an effort to save Alexa from losing her feet, he gave her his socks to wear home and put his gloves on his feet and into his shoes instead. There is nothing that man won't do for his kids or to stand out to people around him:) It is all about the shock factor:).

We finished the night with Beaver Claws (amaaaaaaaaazing) and Indian food in the village. Then I walked another 2 miles home. these boots were NOT made for walking.... great and irreplaceable day but I need a foot massage!!!

Get excited for our outfits tomorrow!!!
