...We broke the heart of every Texas Ranger fan last night and I was there to witness it. What a fun time though - I have never actually been to Texas until last night. My first cultural experience was in the Houston airport when the airline man announced for all the service men and women to board the plane first and thanked them for their heroic service to our country. I got a little teary-eyed when he said that. I don't think I have ever witnessed it before in an airport. I had always heard that Texas was a very patriotic and conservative state, and that first impression only strengthened my original thoughts.

Arriving at the airport in Dallas and then heading over to the ball park for Game 4 was awesome! Texas is beautiful! I am not sure what I was expecting but it mostly came in the form of cactus' and cowboys. I did see plenty of cowboys, and heard enough country music for a lifetime at the game, and it made me love my country even more.

The game itself was GREAT for me but pretty sad for all those around me. I would insert some trash talk phrase or two right here but I feel too badly for the Texas fans. They were so nice to me in my Giant's t-shirt:). At first I was nervous to wear it but knew I had to represent my home state and team (yes I am a Giants fan - and Angels - and Dodgers. But not Yankees - just Derek Jeeter). I was one of 30other Giants fans so I felt a comradery and we all high-fived eachother when we would pass, but I felt like I was just part of the whole stadium fan base. What a night.
