After 6 weeks of no sleep, WAY too much Diet Coke which led to the no sleep, interviewing potential husbands for Aubrey by the dozen, learning how to film and edit awkward first dates to look good, and basically driving myself insane, WE HAVE AN ENGAGED COUPLE ON OUR HANDS!
Matt called me about 3 days ago right after Aubs and I had talked about how hard it was going to be for her to wait until January to get a ring. It was being made and Matt didn't want her to get her hopes up for a Christmas diamond. So you can imagine my surprise when he called me to help put together a "proposal video" for The Mormon Bachelorette site (a fitting way to pop the question after how this whole thing started:).
Aubrey sure didn't make it easy to pull it off without any hiccups. She was moping around sad all day because she didn't think Matt was going to come down to see her or call her for the night. The whole time Matt was hiding in my room while I tried to edit the video with her laptop until Peter gave him the green light to go downstairs and get on one knee. Meanwhile I had asked Aubrey to watch the latest TMB video that I had just finished and posted to the site www.themormonbachelorette.com. I told her it was a Rick Buck video montage so you can imagine her surprise when it was titled "For Aubrey..."
All ready for bed and teary-eyed Aubrey came downstairs to the man of her dreams on bended knee (and unfortunately for them me on the camera trying to capture the whole thing while trying to give them their private moment:). Enjoy the video and congrats Matt and Aubrey! Get excited for the next 3 months! Me and my trusty camera wouldn't miss this for the world! And neither will TMB...
So glad you got in on video!!!! It made me and my sister cry! Congrats Aubrey!!!
