Cruisin' the District

Day three of our fabulous vacation was spent WWF wrestling (I got a bruised chin) and Georgetown. We visited John's favorite park where the planes fly over your head, Graveley Park (see interview below). We ate at our favorite restaurant Chipotle and waited in an obscene line for the famous Georgetown Cupcakes. After that we walked down M Street and made several stops to window shop (gotta watch out for that economy!) and then added to our knowledge of the world by spending time at Barnes and Noble. I read about the Revolutionary War - "1776" for all those in Emily and Erin's book club, while John chose a more practical read, "The Big Idea", an entreprenuerial book. He wants to start a business - we are taking ideas - whoever gives us the best idea will get a special prize;) Comment on here with your idea.

After Georgetown we visited with Tudor and Karina, the most fabulous diplomats from Maldova. They met us at the Maldovian Embassy where we spoke of Parliament, the Inauguration, fine wine, and polenta. They were such a cute couple! They invited to Maldova in May (the best time of year to go) and I invited them to stay in Santa Barbara at my parent's house when they come there to vacation - thanks mom and dad! John's parents met Tudor and Karina at the Ambassador tree lighting ceremony at the Washington DC temple. They make friends so easily!

One memorable moment was watching the Utah vs. Alabama game and eating our cupcakes. We cut them into fourths so we could each try a piece - coconut, chocolate lava, vanilla and red velvet. AMAZING:) A perfect end to a perfect day!
