So recently I found out I am kind of like Betty Crocker with a little help from Duncan Hines:)

I love the 4th of July! So for my contribution I made a really special cake that actually has it's influence from Mexico - but I made it look like an American flag so it still counts as Patriotic... Here is the recipe if any of you want to try it - this one is definitely a winner!

Tres Leches

1 box Duncan Hines Yellow cake mix
1 box instant vanilla pudding
Ingredients for the cake (oil, water, eggs, etc)

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups 2% milk

1 tub of creamy cool whip
fresh fruit of your choice (I like strawberries and bananas and peaches)

Make the cake mix with the pudding mix (do not make the pudding first, just add the powder mix to the cake powder mix). Bake in a 9 x 13 glass pan. As soon as it comes out of the oven poke holes all over it while still hot. Meanwhile blend in a blender all 3 milks (hence the "tres leches"). Pour it evenly over the cake until it is gone. The cake will soak up the milk mixture. Put in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours but overnight is best. Right before serving spread the tub of cool whip on top of the cake and sprinkle with fresh fruit. Serves 20

Enjoy - this recipe turned out sooooo good! I highly recommend it:)
